AV Software Development Kits

The AccessVia Publishing Platform Software Development Kit (SDK) is a set of documentations and sample software code that provide information and resources for developing custom applications using core AccessVia technologies. Retailers can combine the customized applications or components using the SDK with out-of-the box software features to build a solution that is ideal for their enterprise.

The SDKs are organized into platform groupings and cover the following areas:

  • Web server environments
  • Windows client/server environments
  • Linux and UNIX client/server environments

There are supplemental SDKs for specific customizations to AccessVia products. These are:

  • Implementing digital shelf-edge signs
  • Integrating and building in-aisle applications
  • Developing custom template features

The Publishing Platform SDK for Web Environments

The Publishing Platform for SDK for Web Environments includes resources and information to customize the Publishing Platform for use in a Web-based environment as well as details for modifying Web dSignShop. Use the Print Control SDK to enhance the browser experience and take advantage of local printers and network resources. Use the Publishing Web Service SDK to minimize application integration efforts and gain the full benefit of the AccessVia Template architecture.

These different SDKs include various components or frameworks:

  • AccessVia Print Control for Web Environments SDK
    Includes documentation for using the Print Control for Web along with the Print Control for Web ActiveX Object.
  • AccessVia Publishing Server SDK
    Includes a developer's guide and the Publishing Web Service Object.
  • Publishing Platform Application Framework for Web
    Includes the AccessVia .NET Framework for Web Developers Guide, the AccessVia .NET, Framework code, the Publishing Platform Manager reference user interface and the Web dSignShop Store User Interface. (In development)
  • Integration Web Services SDK
    Includes the Integration Web Services Developers Guide and the Integration Web Services objects. (In development)

This SDK includes information and resources for developing customized client-server applications for Windows. Retailers can take advantage of in-store databases or improve existing applications to use AccessVia’s core template technologies and industry-leading printer management.

  • AccessVia Print Control for Windows Environments SDK
    Includes the AccessVia Print Control for Windows Developers Guide and the AccessVia Print Control for Windows ActiveX object.
  • Visual Basic SignShop Framework for Windows
    Includes the Visual Basic SignShop Framework Developers Guide and the Visual Basic SignShop Framework Reference User Interface.
  • Publishing Platform Application Framework for Windows
    Includes the .NET Framework for Windows Developers Guide and the .NET Framework for Windows Code.

The Publishing Platform SDK for Linux/UNIX Environments

This SDK includes information and resources for developing customized client-server applications for Portable environments. Retailers can create or improve existing applications to leverage AccessVia’s portable template technologies and industry-leading printer management. Our development team will build your specific Operating System and database platform combination for all leading variants of Linux, UNIX and ODBC databases. Includes:

  • Code samples that show how to invoke the AccessVia Publishing Engine
  • Technical reference materials

Publishing Platform Framework for Digital Signs

The Publishing Platform for Digital Signs assembles the information and code needed to publish shelf-edge sign content to shelf-edge or plasma digital devices. This solution usually requires integration with digital sign hardware and software that operates the digital sign system. Extend the power of your publishing platform to create custom solutions that target the latest technologies in digital signing.

AccessVia In-Aisle Integration Framework

The Publishing Platform for In-Aisle Integration provides information and sample code for integrating in-aisle sign printing with your existing in-aisle applications or building your own custom in-aisle capabilities. Whether creating applications for printing labels in-aisle on popular thermal devices or adding items to be published by other AccessVia Publishing products these SDKs gets the job done.

  • AccessVia In-Aisle Integration SDK
    Includes the In-Aisle Integration Overview, the AccessVia In-Aisle Integration Developers Guide and Reference and the In-Aisle Integration Framework and Sample Code.
  • AccessVia Publishing Web Service SDK
    May also be used as a part of a In-aisle solution (as defined above).

The AccessVia Designer SDK includes information about developing custom functionality into your Designer templates.
