ACCESSVIA SIGNS THE SPORTS AUTHORITY
Largest national sporting goods retailer deploys dSIGN software

SEATTLE - June 24, 2002 - AccessVia®, the leading provider of retail sign printing and multichannel retail display solutions, today announced that The Sports Authority, Inc. (NYSE:TSA) has implemented dSIGN® 3.5 software in all of its 199 stores in 32 states. AccessVia's dSIGN, the leading software for in-store signage, offers retailers advanced product data delivery, enabling individual stores to create and print attractive shelf-edge signs and labels.

The Sports Authority implementation is a second-generation deployment that improves in-store printing capabilities and introduces state-of-the-art wireless request mechanisms. Using handheld wireless devices, store associates can request shelf-edge signs or labels from anywhere in the store by simply scanning merchandise or bar code labels in the aisle.

With AccessVia's dSIGN, The Sports Authority maintains central control over the appearance of their signs and over item data such as product features while allowing stores to print only the signs and labels they need. The handhelds deliver crucial on-demand printing, saving significant time and money.

"We're publishing real-time item and price information from our AS/400 item database, and our visual department can easily control the look and content using the dSIGN publishing tools," said Bob Lynch, Vice President of Store Systems, The Sports Authority. "With little training, our employees are able to print signs that engage customers at the point of sale and make the most of our brand. We chose AccessVia for their leading print solution and the opportunity to leverage our print integration for future initiatives that publish the same data on displays. We have laid the groundwork for kiosk and m-commerce applications, for example, and those are valuable to have available as we move forward.

"We're pleased to have the opportunity to work with the largest full-line sporting goods retailer in the United States," said Dean A. Sleeper, AccessVia CEO. "The Sports Authority is a great partner for AccessVia in developing the next round of innovation for customer-facing print and display applications."

The AccessVia Print solution includes both dSIGN and Web dSignShop to provide clients with accurate and attractive signs, shelf-edge labels, fact tags, coupons, and more. dSIGN is built for classic client/server implementations and offers advanced product data delivery and unmatched integration with legacy systems. Web dSignShop is designed for enterprise and affiliated retailers who want to use the Internet, an intranet, or an extranet to publish signs using a Web browser without installing or maintaining in-store software. Other solutions include AccessVia M-commerce, AccessVia Kiosk, AccessVia E-commerce, and AccessVia E-mail. AccessVia's customers include major retailers such as Boscov's, Bed Bath & Beyond, Canadian Tire, Eckerd, Giant Eagle, PETCO, PETsMART, Target, Tesco Lotus, Walgreens, and Wawa.
