TESCO LOTUS DEPLOYS ACCESSVIA PRINT SOLUTION IN THAILAND
dSIGN's Multilanguage Technology a Key Advantage for the Global Retailer

SEATTLE, Sept. 25 -- AccessVia(R), the leading provider of retail sign printing and multichannel retail display solutions, today announced that Tesco Lotus has implemented AccessVia dSIGN 3.5(R) in 40 stores across Thailand. dSIGN, the leading software for in-store signage, offers retailers advanced product data delivery, enabling individual stores to create and print attractive shelf-edge signs and labels.

The implementation marks the first multilanguage installation of dSIGN and demonstrates AccessVia's capabilities to meet international technology standards and integrate with platforms in the Asian market. The user interface is available to store associates in both Thai and English, and the signs -- which now feature standardized item data -- are printed in both languages.

With AccessVia's dSIGN, Tesco Lotus delivers sign printing capabilities to its network of stores while maintaining central control over sign appearance and item data such as product descriptions and feature points. Store associates use wireless handhelds in the aisle or a Windows-based PC to request signs and then print them in color, using in-store laser printers. dSIGN also enables price localization on the signs, which will allow store managers to respond quickly to market conditions in Thailand's highly competitive retail environment.

"Productivity was a major driver in the decision to implement dSIGN. Before dSIGN, we used handwritten signs, and it took days to sign a store before a promotional event. Now we can hang signs several hours before the doors open, making 1,500 signs and labels in 25 minutes," said Sam Oh, Senior Vice President of Information Systems at Tesco Lotus Thailand. "By linking the system to our price change database, we can also ensure consistent design and quality throughout our stores -- important features for our customers."

"We saw the Tesco Lotus partnership as a tremendous opportunity to prove the global readiness of our solutions," said Dean A. Sleeper, AccessVia CEO. "And we've delivered. This successful deployment illustrates very powerfully that dSIGN is a superior sign publishing technology for retailers around the world."

The AccessVia Print solution includes both dSIGN and Web dSignShop to provide clients with accurate and attractive signs, shelf-edge labels, fact tags, coupons, and more. dSIGN is built for classic client/server implementations and offers advanced product data delivery and unmatched integration with legacy systems. Web dSignShop is designed for enterprise and affiliated retailers who want to use the Internet, an intranet, or an extranet to publish signs using a Web browser without installing or maintaining in-store software. Other solutions include AccessVia M-commerce, AccessVia Kiosk, AccessVia E-commerce, and AccessVia E-mail.

AccessVia's customers include major retailers such as Boscov's, Bed Bath & Beyond, Canadian Tire, Eckerd, Giant Eagle, PETCO, PETsMART, Target, Tesco Lotus, Walgreens, and Wawa.
